- Annapurna Base Camp Trekking (ABC) - (2015) -

 

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the most popular trekking destinations of Nepal. And it has been cited as one of the best trekking trails even in the whole world. Actually, Annapurna base camp trek will let you experience your hike into one of the wonderful and Challenging Annapurna Massif with its snow caped mountains. The vast Annapurna Sanctuary is encircled by the famous mountain peaks Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, Annapurna I and Annapurna South.

 

      

 

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek (ABC) is considered a moderate trekking. The final and highest destination is the Annapurna sanctuary, the Base Camp at 4200m. So having little training and skills will make us easier in walking up-hill. Months of January, February, March, April, May, October, November and December are the most favourable months to do trekking in this region.

 

The Annapuna region is home to local village people with unique cultures and traditions. One of the main trekking routes to Annapurna Base camp starts from Pokhara valley to Nayapul which is just one hour drive away from Pokhara.

 

      

 

We will follow the main track which leads us to beautiful villages like Chhomrung, Dovan, Deurali etc. You can Trek fast (in a few days) or slow and have more stop-overs for sleeping in the beautiful guesthouses along the way.

 

Trekking Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Pokhara to Nayapul to Kimche, drive 3 hrs, start Trekking from Kimche to Chomrong 7 hrs.

Day 02: Chhomrung via Dovan [Dobhan] (2500m) to Himalaya – 8 hrs trekking.

Day 03: Himalaya to Annapurna Basecamp (ABC) via Dovan / Deurali (3230m) – 6½ hrs.

Day 04: EXPLORE South Annapurna Base Camp [ABC] (4131m)

Day 05: Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) to Sinuwa, via Bamboo (2345m) – 8 hrs.

Day 06: Sinuwa to Jhinu Hot Spring (1780m) to Birethanti – 7 hrs.

Day 07: Birethanti to Nayapul, and drive back to Pokhara by Bus.

7 Day Trekking Itinerary

 

Day 01:

Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul 1:30 hrs. Drive to Kimche 1:30 hrs. Trek to Chomrong 7hrs.
Take Mini-Bus from Nayapul to Birethanti/ Kimche 1:30 hrs. Total Driving: 3hrs.
In Birethanti Checkpost for Trekking-Permit (Tims-Card).
Start trekking from Kimche to New-Bridge 3:30 hrs.
From New Bridge - Jhinu Danda [Hot Spring] - Chhomrong 3:30 hrs. Total trekking 7hrs. Stay overnight.

Day 02:

Trek from Chhomrong to Himalaya - 8 hrs walking total.
Chhomrong-Sinuwa 2:30 hrs / Sinuwa-Bamboo 2 hrs
Bamboo-Dovan 1:30 hrs / Dovan-Himalaya 2 hrs. Stay overnight.

Day 03:

Trek from Himalaya to Annapurna Basecamp (ABC). Total trekking 6:30 hrs
Himalaya-Deurali 2hrs / Deurali-Machapuchhare Base Camp 2:30 hrs
Machapuchhare Base Camp (MBC) to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) 2 hrs
Stay overnight in Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 04:

EXPLORE South Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)
Stay whole day in Annapurna Base Camp

Day 05:

Go back the same way, all the way down to Sinuwa. Total trekking 8:15 hrs
Trek from ABC to MBC 1 hrs / from MBC to Deurali 1:15 hrs
Deurali-Himalaya 1:15 hrs / Himalaya-Dovan 1:30 hrs
Dovan-Bamboo 0:45 hrs / Bamboo-Sinuwa 2:30 hrs

Day 06:

Trek from Sinuwa to Birethanti (7 hrs walking, 30min driving)
Sinuwa-Chhomrong 2 hrs / Chhomrong-Jhinudanda 1 hrs
Jhinudanda [Hot Spring] -New Bridge 1:30 hrs / New Bridge-Kimche 2:30 hrs
Kimche to Birethanti by Jeep 30min - 1500 Rs. Stay overnight in Birethanti

Day 07:

From Birethanti to Nayapul 15min by Taxi to Main Road
from Nayapul back to Pokhara by Bus 1:30 hrs
Annapurna Base Camp Trekking Ends back in Pokhara :-)
